WDW Prep 10 – Magic Kingdom Attractions

We are already 10 weeks in to my WDW Prep series! Crazy…it’s flying by!

Oh boy do we have some fantastic attractions in Magic Kingdom. Even looking at the list of them all makes me mad excited! Since there are some attractions in Disneyland Paris which are also in Magic Kingdom, I am aware of some of the attractions already. Let’s talk about some of them shall we!

The 3 Mountains: The mountains are incredible! There’s Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. I’ve been on the Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain at DLP and I adore those rides so much! Space Mountain is actually I think my favourite ride at DLP! I can’t wait to finally go on Splash Mountain and obviously, since it’s a water ride, do it when you’re boiling so it can cool you down a bit and you’ll feel refreshed! These rides I think are defo worth getting a fast pass for since they are very popular! Big Thunder Mountain is a insane looking attraction. You sit in a train and speed round a gold mine and you have to shout ‘the wildest ride in the wilderness’ when the ride begins! Space Mountain is a inside ride that is pitch black and a pretty thrilling ride so I’d say you have to like big drops and speed to enjoy this ride! Splash Mountain as I said is a water ride. It’s like a log flume style which I love and is a great ride for all ages! It seems super fun and I can’t wait to ride it, I feel like I can already say its a must do ride even without me riding it, just from what I’ve seen and how much everyone raves about it!

Peter Pan’s Flight is a favourite ride for a lot of people! It’s loved by kids and adults. It’s a super cute slow mover ride where you sit in a pirate ship and travel through Peter’s journey. Since I’m from London, I love the lit up London part of this ride, it’s so pretty and it’s nice to see the city that I work in displayed in a ride! This is one of Disney’s classic rides and I believe it’s one that you have to experience. Even though I am a person who much prefers fast rides with big drops and that gets my adrenaline going, Joe loves this ride so we have to always do it!

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is probably the most popular ride in Magic Kingdom. You defo need to have a fast pass for this ride or at least try to get on it during extra magic hours. There always seems to be a long queue for this ride. You sit in a mine train and go through the diamond mind from Snow White. This is a family coaster, but even before you get on the ride, the queue has an interactive station where you can pick up and wash the jewels. I think it’s great to have something to do in the queue, especially since this queue seems to always be a long wait, it keeps you and the kids busy and can make the time go past much smoother and quicker!

A different take on attractions, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor is a comedy show in Tomorrowland. Joe has said that this show is pretty good and that I need to see it when we go. From short clips that I’ve seen, not wanting to spoil it completely, it does seem a good laugh and something different to do! Something to be aware of with this show is that the monsters love to interact with the audience so you could be picked…go in being prepared! Tbh, I would actually like to be picked because it gives you a complete new experience of the show by being involved. Plus, Monsters Inc is one of my favourite Disney films, so it would be great to see something to do with it!

There’s a few children rides in Magic Kingdom such as its a small world, Dumbo, Mad Tea Party, Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Under The Sea. These are cute, easy going rides that are either going round and up and down in Dumbo or a magic carpet, or you go through the story of the Little Mermaid, spin in the cups or get its a small world song stuck in your head for the rest of the holiday as you travel through the different countries! They’re all good rides but may not be the ‘adrenaline junkies’ favourites since they are slow and for the little ones.

Lastly, I have to mention Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. I think this was a great idea from Disney to create a ride like this. It gives a sense of competition between you and your friend/partner/family. It’s a constant moving ride so the queue does go fairly quickly. The attraction involves a ‘gun’ where you shoot at the targets that are placed all around the attraction. The other thing I love about this attraction is how colourful and cool looking it is! The design of it is brilliant. While shooting at the targets, your score will be shown in your cart and then at the end you can compare your scores with the other person in your cart. Also, at the end of the ride, there will be a score chart where you can see what level you are. This ride is also at DLP…Personally, I am terrible at this attraction and my score is always awful. I don’t understand how I am so bad…but anyway, this is a great attraction that everyone will love. As long as you don’t get so competitive that there’s tantrums afterwards!!!

Magic Kingdom have a variety of attractions which I think makes the park even better since it isn’t just all the same rollercoaster style rides. There’s attractions for everyone to enjoy and ride, along with some shows to watch! What attraction are you most excited for or if you have visited before, what attraction is your favourite?
