Disney baking – Mickey cookie recipe

  • Unsalted butter – 200g
  • Caster sugar – 200g
  • Plain flour – 400g
  • 1 egg
  • Chocolate – I used dairy milk bars 200g each
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Step 1 – Place the sugar and the butter in a bowl and whisk together until creamy

Step 2 – Beat the egg and add it to the bowl of the sugar and butter

Step 3 – Add the flour into the bowl of the ingredients and mix into a dough

Step 4 – Wrap the dough in cling film and chill the dough for an hour

Step 5 – Roll out the dough and begin to cut your Mickey shapes (I used a Mickey cookie cutter)

Step 6 – Place the cut out Mickey’s onto a baking tray lined with baking paper

Step 7 – Cool these for an extra 30 minutes before baking

Step 8 – Preheat your oven to 180 Celsius and bake for 12-14 minutes (or until golden brown)

Step 9 – Once your cookies are out the oven, let them cool for 10-20 minutes before placing them onto a cooling rack

Step 10 – Now that the cookies are cool, you can begin decorating!

For my cookies, I melted the dairy milk bars in the microwave and used a spoon to drizzle the chocolate over the ears.

I then sprinkled the chocolate ears with coloured and chocolate sprinkles.

Let the chocolate dry and then they are ready to eat!
